REQUESTS...

"local beer"
"more menu items"
"bread"
"larger servings"
"more vegetarian choices"
"peanut butter pie"
"more choices for people with allergies"
"particular beers"
"different chairs"
"louder music"
"different hours"
"reservations"
"no foul language on the blog"
"more lighting"
"less lighting"
"different fish in the fish and chips"
"more "gluten free" choices"
"live music"

These are just the requests I can remember off the top of my head...
and though we do try to listen to what people want and we certainly welcome suggestions, we have come to realize that there is no way we can please "everyone".
We certainly want "everyone" to enjoy themselves, and we try to accommodate "everyone", but if we try to please one we will undoubtedly offend someone else. That being said we have decided to stick with just being "US", and we hope that everyone understands that. So if you have made a request, it's not that we didn't care, it's merely that we are just going to be "US" and hope that people like "US" as "US". Not to say that we don't want suggestions, if there is any way we can make "everyones" experience better we would love to do it, and we are more than open to listening, we just don't want to offend anyone that didn't see the change that "they" wanted. Cheers!

I went last night and thought it was great! Although the service was a bit slow (but that didn't bother me too much) it was worth the wait when the food arrived. The only comment that someone at my table had was that there needs to be some type of sauce or ice cream served with the bread pudding. Other than that, I loved my meal! The flourless chocolate cake was delicious!

seriously..if your ass is not comfy...who cares? all the restaurant should be worried about is how your belly is feeling.I LOVE EVERY LAST THING ABOUT SALT! the bar and wait staff rock, as well as the food and atmosphere.

Are you kidding??? What a bunch of ridiculous requests! We live in NC, where most restaurants have a very "corporate-chainy" feel, because most of them ARE chain restaurants with corporate backing. We would do anything for some more individual "US"-type restaurants!
Flick those "suggestions" off like a piece of lint, and keep up the good work. Can't wait to visit SALT on our next trip up to NJ!

Bradley,

It was great talking with you at the bar last week at the first of our many upcoming visits to Salt. You were very personable and I had a great time talking about Top Chef, B_la, this blog, Daniel, among other things...

At at the bar and the food was great and affordably priced. Plan on going again soon for sit down dinner. The kinks will get shaken out and the service will obviously improve as the "professional" waitstaff learn the ropes.

Someone will always have something to say (BTW, the bread pudding was good IMHO as well as the fish and chips!) or suggest but you can;t make everyone happy. Just keep doing what you do best....serve great food and good prices in a casual atmosphere....Go SALT!!!!
