THIS WEEKS FEATURED BEER!
Rogue "Dead Guy Ale".......Gratefully dedicated to the Rogue in each of us. In the early 1990s Dead Guy Ale was created as a private tap sticker to celebrate the Mayan Day of the Dead (November 1st, All Souls Day) for Casa U Betcha in Portland, Oregon. The Dead Guy design proved popular and was incorporated into a bottled product a few years later with Maierbock as the elixir. Strangely, the association with the Grateful Dead is pure coincidence.
Dead Guy is a German-style Maibock made with Rogues proprietary "PacMan" ale yeast. It is deep honey in color with a malty aroma, rich hearty flavor and a well balanced finish. Dead Guy is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, Maier Munich and Carastan malts, along with Perle and Saaz Hops. Dead Guy Ale is available in 22-ounce bottles, 12-ounce 6-pack, and on draft.

Awesome choices!
Where does Mr. Beer stand on these two?? I really like how you guys use beer advocate as a guide, I have always checked in with them on opinions. Not to say I would live by that, I am a firm believer in drinking what you like, but it is a good guide with alot of different views.

Definitely want to check out the Dead Guy Ale!
Hi Brad and Laurie,
It's Colleen in the great Pacific NW checking the blog and letting you know that you have scored a winner with the Dead Guy. A beer from Oregon that is viewed as a special treat even to us out here.
Hope to pay you a visit next time I'm visiting the parents (Jim and Sue) Take care...
Wow, no complaints from me here. The selections have progressively been getting better...Rogue is a terrific brewery and Dead Guy Ale is their flagship beer and certainly one of their best. Avery is outstanding too. Great job!
Well, now that I've created the name, I guess I'll just keep posting on here like this! That previous comment is mine, but I figured I'd make a follow up as well-- sorry for the offensive talk and yes, I will tone down the arrogance. On the other hand, to Brad-- consider getting Salt put into the Brewing News... the only other place in our area on their map is Krogh's, and you'd be a welcome addition!
